Possibly my favorite of the Fins to Forest podcasts so far! I sit down with John and we replay some of our favorite, funniest, and worst fishing memories during our college fishing years at Tennessee Tech. Share your favorite fishing story in the comments or with our Instagram page, we'd love to read them!
The good, the bad, and the ugly - our last three tournaments of 2021 have consisted of one of each of these! Whether it has been cashing a check or hiding from lightning storms, its been an eventful few weeks. It's getting to be the favorite time of year for a lot of us bass fishermen, and before we know it here in Tennessee we'll be plucking fish off of beds (and letting them swim right back to them, hopefully). Not to mention, we are a week away from kicking off thunder chicken season! What a time to be a lover of the outdoors, we've got to soak it up all we can! Thanks for checking out Fins to Forest, if you enjoy watching podcasts while you listen, then be sure to subscribe to the Fins to Forest channel on YouTube! We sure appreciate ya.
This season we're taking a different approach to how we handle practicing for a tournament a week ahead of time, and it's already showing some signs of success! In this episode I will try to break down why I think we were able to land a Top 10 finish in the first Morristown Marine Trail tournament of the year. Also, what do you consider to be pre-spawn bass fishing essentials? I give you my four must haves! Thank you for listening to Fins to Forest, we sincerely appreciate it.
On a new segment we may just end up simply calling "Outdoor Stories", I want to hear some of your greatest, craziest, or nerve testing stories. Whether it was the craziest way you ever caught a fish or killed a deer, or an unbelievable tale about "the one that got away", I want you to use Fins to Forest as a way to tell that story! Message us on Instagram @finstoforest or @samcarris to tell us a story you want to share, or drop a comment on a YouTube video. For the first installment, my brother and I share a few stories we've accumulated over the last few years, including what is probably my favorite hunting story of all time! Thank you for listening to Fins to Forest.
It's the hottest electronic topic in all of fishing right now, and I want to help you shorten your learning curve with it - the Garmin Panoptix Livescope! In this episode I tell you about how I've managed to have success with the technology in a short amount of time. Some SUPER helpful resources are linked here below, and if you find value in them like I have, let them know Fins to Forest sent you! Thank you for listening to the podcast, we appreciate your support. You can also check the Shopify link below to shop the very first run of Fins to Forest merch!

If you think back to the summer of 2020, you'll remember our Alaskan adventure with the one and only Grant Robinson! Grant is back in Tennessee for the first time in over two years and he's come along while I practice for the first BFL of the year on Lake Chickamauga. We get an update on life in Alaska, and I let you know how practice has looked for me thus far. Thank you for listening to Fins to Forest!
Looking back on 2020, we share how we reached the 250 subscriber mark on YouTube! Things that worked, things that haven't, and things we want to try in the future. Then, we lay down all of the expectations and goals that we have for 2021! It's a year with IMMENSE opportunity and promise, everyone just has to go get it. Go get yours because we are going to get ours! Goal time start: 23:36.
It's the last deer season related episode of 2020! In this episode, my cousin who I share a lease with joins me to wrap-up and look back at the 2020 season. Some success we had, lessons we learned, and plans we're trying to put in place for 2021. Also...a hint at things to come in the next month? I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas, and thank you for listening to Fins to Forest!
