Despite increased focus on gender inequities in healthcare in recent years, female doctors still experience the effects of systemic discrimination.  Rather than teaching them how to cope with discrimination, proactive strategies such as enhanced negotiations skills may help to level the playing field.

Fiona McKenzie is a management consultant and mediator, and she has developed a framework for teaching negotiation skills to female doctors, helping them achieve their goals and progress their careers.
