Fiqh of Fasting and Welcoming Ramadan. Some questions that we discussed were:

1) Does a pregnant/nursing woman have to fast? If she doesn't, then how does she make up for the fasting?
2) What happens if I have to travel during Ramadan?
3) How old does a child have to be before they start fasting?
4) How old does a person have to be before they are excused from fasting? What do they do to make up for it?

Also discussed were three things we should do to maximize the benefit of Ramadan.

Sheikh Aarij Anwer is a specialist in Zakat, Arabic and linguistic tafsir. Born in Karachi and raised in Toronto, he serves as the Muslim Chaplain at Western University. He is also a Zakat consultant with National Zakat Foundation and Zakat manager at LaunchGood.

In the past, he’s served as imam and educator at London Muslim Mosque and Masjid Khalid Bin Al-Walid. He authored a K-8 Arabic curriculum for Bayyinah Institute. He founded Qutoof Academy for advanced Arabic studies.

Sheikh Aarij Anwer has completed bachelor degrees in Computer Science (Waterloo), Education (Toronto) and Fiqh (Al-Madinah International University). He currently resides in London ON with his wife and 4 daughters.
