On Wednesday, May, 14th, 2025 we had our first in our series of Cosmic Songwriter Firehouse Sessions!  We were excited to welcome singer songwriter from Virginia, Sam Moss into the studio. Host, Spence Taylor and Sam chatted about songwriting, performing, the new album “Swimming” and recording at Sylvan Esso’s band members, Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn’s studio, Betty in North Carolina. On Sunday, April, 13th, 2025 we had a very special 2 for 1 session with Pittsburgh singer songwriter, Merce Lemon and North Carolina alt country band, Fust.  We packed so many people into our production room and we had great conversations about songwriting, touring, influences, SXSW, Merce growing up in the DIY scene, and the music scene that’s bubbling over in North Carolina.  This was a fun and beautiful session with incredible musicians who also happened to be really nice and fun people.  Don’t miss this one!  It’s a stand out!

On Monday, April, 14th, 2025 we welcomed Sam Blasucci and his band to the Firehouse.  Sam is best known as one half of Mapache, a Southern California roots-rock duo just as instantly recognizable for their elegant, intertwined guitar parts as they are for their devoted, Nudie-Suit wearing fanbase. Sam chatted with host, Adriane Pontecorvo about his 2024 album, Real Life Thing, life on the road, and more.  We loved having a saxophone in the studio – don’t sleep on this session!

On Monday, April, 21st, 2025 we welcomed Fort Wayne, IN indie rock trio, The Namby Pamby back to the Firehouse.  This is their second Firehouse Session at WFHB, the first one being in December of 2023! We chatted about their new self-released sophomore album, The Birds Aren’t Migrating Like They’re Supposed To which charted at WFHB in the top 10 for 4 weeks!  Music Director and Host, Abby Noroozi asked them about recording, songwriting, their biggest tour ever and being from Fort Wayne.  Don’t miss this gorgeous session with this Indiana band on the rise.  We can’t wait to see what The Namby Pamby does next!

On Monday, April, 7th, 2025 we started the day with Mexico City based indie rock band, Diles Que No Me Maten!  Due to travel, they were unable to make it to the studio the day before for their scheduled session.  Instead, they woke up early after their fantastic show at The Bishop and came in for a Monday morning session – now that’s dedication!  Host, Adriane Pontecorvo chats with the band about their show the night before at The Bishop, songwriting, touring, and so much more. On Friday, March, 14th, 2025 we welcomed country rock band, Oldstar in for a Firehouse Session! Oldstar is a dynamic bootgaze band hailing originally from the Florida Panhandle and driven by the creative energy of Zane McLaughlin.  In this session, Zane and Music Director/Host, Abby Noroozi, chatted about the new fantastic self released album, “Of The Highway.” They also chatted about being from Florida, moving to New York, touring with Tombstone Poetry, recording, and so much more.  Keep your eye on this band!

On Saturday, March, 8th, 2025 we welcomed Isabel Olive and her Chicago based project, Half Gringa. Half Gringa creates music informed by contemporary indie-rock + Latin American and Midwestern folk. In this session, Izzy and host/Music Director, Abby Noroozi, chatted about the concept and the making of the new album, Cosmovisión – released on March 28th. They also chatted about heading to SXSW, touring with folk artist Lizzie No, growing up & influences, the Chicago music scene, and the show that night at The Blockhouse.
