Picture this: what if we could strip away 2,000 years of
man-made doctrines, traditions, and divisions and return to the simple, pure Christianity of the first century? That’s what the Restoration Movement set out to do, they wanted to reclaim the faith as it was meant to be, grounded in
Scripture alone.
In this episode, we’ll explore the importance of going back to “book, chapter, and verse” as our guide. It’s not about following human traditions or cultural preferences—it’s about following Jesus. From Acts 2:42, where early disciples devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking
bread, and prayer, to John 12:48, where Jesus says His words will judge us in the last day, we’re reminded that God’s Word, not our feelings or opinions, should be the ultimate authority in our lives.
We’ll also dive into the simplicity of New Testament
worship. No grand productions, no elaborate hierarchies, just heartfelt devotion to God. Singing, prayer, the Lord’s Supper, and teaching were their focus. And yes, we’ll talk about why simplicity still matters today, even when it feels countercultural.
