  The practice of first fruits was commonly known in ancient Israel (specified in Leviticus). The people would offer to the Lord the very best of their produce or livestock animal for the sacrifice. In today's modern time, there are congregations that dedicate "first fruit" services on a particular day of the calendar year and render their offerings to the Lord. But most importantly, according to Scripture, we are the "first fruits" of the Son, Jesus is the "first fruit" of the Father, and we the church posses the "first fruits" of the Spirit! What a remarkable reality! God is beyond good!
