We also explore how different religious perspectives shape the way we understand spirits, the afterlife, and the unknown.

We’re back and apparently we have 10 months of catching up to do! Welcome to Episode 1!

Our last episode was in January, and life has done what life does since then… A LOT. In our Season 2 premiere, we sit down and catch up on where we’ve been, what this year has looked like, and some of the changes, challenges, losses, growth, and life moments that have happened along the way.

No big agenda. No perfectly organized timeline. Just two Amigas catching up on life and talking about what the last 10 months have brought us.

And because it’s October, we couldn’t come back without opening the door to spooky season just a little. We dip our toes into paranormal talk, share some thoughts, and set the mood for what’s coming this season.

Season 2 is officially here. We have a lot to talk about. 

In this episode, we celebrate a full year of First-Gen Latinas.. Unscripted, one year of showing up, figuring it out as we go, and sharing our voices even when it’s messy. We reflect on the holidays, the start of a new year, and what’s ahead for the podcast as we continue to grow this space with intention.

We also pause to honor a big milestone: Raquel stepping into her 50s. A moment filled with reflection, pride, and all the emotions that come with crossing into a new chapter.

This conversation wasn’t all light. As first-generation Latinas, we couldn’t ignore the heaviness we’re feeling around what’s happening in our country, including the ICE raids happening in our country. That part of the conversation brought out frustration, anger, and deep concern, because these issues aren’t abstract to us. They’re very personal.

And yes… we laughed. A lot. We battled tech issues (again), stumbled through the recording, and reminded ourselves that perfection was never the goal, connection is.

This episode is a reminder that you can hold joy and grief, celebration and anger, laughter and truth—all at the same time. Thank you for being part of this first year with us. We’re just getting started.

We may not have been the ones chased, but we’ve seen the aftermath—and we’re speaking on it.

We talk about what it means to live in neighborhoods where people in masks and military gear show up unannounced, where loved ones disappear without explanation, and where safety is never guaranteed. We share how our communities are preparing—not because we’re undocumented, but because we know that ICE doesn’t ask questions before profiling and taking our people.

This is about fear, survival, and the strength it takes to stay informed and stay unidos.
