In a case of misplaced priorities, the Israelites set about building their own homes, while the Lord's house lay in ruin. The busyness of our everyday lives causes us to do the same, constantly putting worldly pursuits, of little eternal value, ahead of "building the Lord's house". The prophet Haggai delivers a message from the Lord that should be heard by all who find themselves losing sight of what should be first in their lives.
