I waited in the car while my son surfed at Bunmahon Beach this morning. We arrived just before 7am as the sky was just beginning to brighten but there was still no visibility as we were submerged in thick mist. It felt like being inside a cloud!
I decided to try to meditate while I waited. The atmosphere and sound of the light rain and the ocean were mesmerising. An occasional bird and passing car gentle blending with the constant hum. I decided to record it from the dashboard of the car, just on my phone. I wrapped up and sat backcomfortably with my eyed closed trying to focus my mind while allowing thoughts to come and go.
Knowing that I was making a recording made it difficult for me to focus because I kept being distracted by the soothing sounds. The more the sounds took hold of me, the more relaxed and sleepy I became. That then became the challenge, to try to stay awake! I lasted about 35 minutes before finally surrendering to sleep.
So relax and enjoy this recording...maybe it will help you to meditate or sleep!
