This sermon series on building the church continues today with us looking at our need to return to our first love. You probably will say oh but I never left my first love. Well that I want you sure of, not deceived in to believing it, but sure. As we being this message we will look at the first of the seven churches of revelation. The church of Ephesus as it is reveled unto us in Johns Letter as given to him by Jesus in Revelation chapter 2. You should know that in this passage looking at the church of Ephesus, that this church along with all of the seven churches found here were literal churches. But what can we learn today from these churches which existed such a long time ago- Well to begin to help you answer what may be your questions we should be able to recognize the resemblance of these churches with some of the misguided ways of even today's churches. So allowing yourself to accept that today's churches along with those who make up the church body have faults and short comings. They go right along with the things we see happing in the seven churches. Now then what will help you accept the need to set the direction of the church on a more direct course toward Jesus Christ and God the Father- What will open your eyes to see the relation in the church today the seven churches of Revelation. Learning to recognize the failures in the church today through the wisdom of Christ is how the church of today can learn to sustain growth and experience lasting revival.
