The Ground Is Shifting

Last week I spoke about how the ground is shifting, and how, as we enter this new year and this one-energy cycle, it’s essential to look honestly at the reality we want to create. Across the planet, realities are being created—or imposed—by those in power, and all of us are affected by that.

So the question becomes: how do we work with what’s in front of us while still holding a vision of what we want to build this year, as we begin the longer arc of the next nine? Are we willing to engage the deeper promise of Pluto in Aquarius as we move into this year of fire and air—energy that asks for dynamic action?

Holding the Vision

People will take action in many different ways this year. What matters is having a map, a plan, or at least a guiding vision—even if it’s abstract. It’s about maintaining a sense of what you want to bring into form, and how you want your world to feel.

And your world ripples outward. It affects everyone around you.

I’ll be offering a broader forecast for the year soon, though I’ll say this week itself isn’t the easiest. What is clear is that a strong cluster of energy is forming around what you want to produce and how invested you are in that effort. If there’s a part of you that wants to shine and be built upon, it deserves reinforcement.

The key will be your willingness to engage both opportunities and challenges as they arise—because that’s how the vision truly unfolds.

Action vs. Fear

Some of you may feel that your only wish right now is to feel safe and relatively secure. That, too, is a valid vision. What matters is approaching it from action rather than fear.

Fear, anxiety, and worry are human. The work isn’t to deny those feelings—it’s not to get stuck inside them. They are experiences, not identities. They deserve attention and care, but they are meant to move and transform.

This week invites us to examine how attached we may be to identities rooted in inertia, and whether we’re willing to let something shift.

Monday–Tuesday: Emotion, Expression, and Information Gaps

On January 5th, with the Moon in Leo, many people will want to express how they’re feeling—about the world, about their lives, about what they see unfolding. This can be a dramatic, emotionally charged day.

Fire energy is charismatic and compelling, but it asks a question: are you feeding the fire, or using it to warm and mobilize yourself?

Because we’re still in a waning Moon cycle, it’s important to remember that we don’t yet have all the information. Monday is better for finishing things than launching something entirely new. You may feel ready to act, but pivots are likely as more details emerge.

On the 6th, the Moon goes void-of-course in the morning, reinforcing the need to slow down and work with what’s already underway.

Midweek: Alignment, Feedback, and Refinement

As Venus aligns with the Sun and then Mars, a powerful focus develops around value, desire, effort, and outcome. By Friday, these planets oppose Jupiter, highlighting growth and opportunity—but also reminding us not to get locked into assumptions too early.

Hard work matters, but so does understanding how something is being received. Are you working in a vacuum, or are you letting feedback refine what you’re building?

This is a strong week for checking in, especially with collaborators. Make sure expectations, timelines, and responsibilities are clearly shared. Missed details or assumptions can cause friction if they’re not addressed early.

Once the Moon enters Virgo on the 6th, productivity can be very high through Wednesday. This is excellent energy for focused, practical work.

Thursday–Friday: Perspective and Balance

Thursday evening brings a tonal shift as the Moon enters Libra, softening the week’s intensity. This energy favors diplomacy, aesthetics, and cooperation. It’s a good time to reconnect, beautify your space, or have conversations that restore balance.

Friday highlights the importance of perspective. Another viewpoint—even one you initially resist—may actually strengthen your position. Libra energy doesn’t argue for the sake of it; it offers contrast so clarity can emerge.

Be mindful of communication glitches Friday evening. Listen carefully and don’t assume agreement without checking in.

The Weekend: Choosing Your Battles

Saturday morning can feel edgy, especially if someone is rigidly attached to a particular outcome. Before engaging in conflict, ask yourself whether it’s truly worth the energy it will require.

After the Moon enters Scorpio early Sunday, we move into the final phase of the waning Moon cycle. This is where deeper decisions are made—about what stays, what goes, and what we are truly ready to leave behind as we prepare for the next lunar cycle and the fuller momentum of this year.
