More than two years after construction began, and a year after it was completed, employees at the state’s fish hatchery in Mantua celebrated last week beginning operations in their new egg incubating facility. The million project included the new egg building— which hosts a number of amenities excitedly welcomed by the hatchery’s employees, such as a designated room to change and store equipment, such as full-body waders—and “de-gassing” equipment to address issues with ground water that feeds the hatchery.
