Fish n Tips with Betsy

I had a chance to sit down with owner/operator, Mike Norder. Mike and Jessie have a lot going on with this beautiful resort. Nestled on the Missouri River on Lake Oahu, this resort has it all, including cabins, a restaurant, convenience store, boat slips, a bait shop, fish guiding and more.

If you're looking for a quiet, beautiful gateway, not to mention the greatest fishing, this is the place for you.

Take a listen to Chad Hull with Algona Marine and Sports. Chad and his family are a 3rd generation Lund boat dealer. Learn how to pick the right Lund for you and trust me they have a lot of options.

We talk how Lund boats have evolved over the years and all the accessories available. If you're looking to buy your first boat or upgrade, Chad and the team have all the knowledge to help.

Walleye at its best! Fishing with Black Water Cats and some of the best Winnipeg guides around. We discuss what it takes to catch fall walleye in Hecla. These fish are fat and hungry. Thanks to Walleye Mafia and Dino out of Winnipeg for the quality lures.

I got a chance to sit down with James and discuss what the club offers throughout the year and some different locations they fish. We touch on equipment, electronics, baits, etc. If you're looking for a less expensive way to cover a lot of water without owning a boat, you won't want to miss this episode. James and heartland kayak Anglers run a great club that gives back to the community. Thank you James and thanks for listening.2

I got to sit down with Tanya Johnson again who is one of the owners with her husband Thane. We touch briefly on her last year fighting breast cancer before we get into the big event they have coming up in November. Being breast cancer awareness month and right before their show, we are excited to share this episode with you.

This is by far the most touching and emotional podcast  I have had. Calvin a 17 year old new scuba diver saves a life of another on his first solo dive. This young man is a hero and a man that I would want next to me in the time of trouble. I look forward to seeing what this young man will do in the future.

I’ve never seen a display of animals like Bernie has from over the years of hunting. Bernie has close to 150 animals from South Africa and close to 500 altogether. Trapping and skinning flickertail gophers at the age of 6, Bernie was meant for the outdoors. Listen to the stories Bernie has about each of the animals he has shot and stuffed. I could talk to him for hours with the stories he has.

South Dakota Guides and Tournament fisherman Cody and Tyler talk about targeting big walleye and what it takes to win tournaments.  We also talked about Walleye Nation Creations and how their crank baits are tried and true. Thanks guys that was a lot of fun.

If you like catching big walleye through the ice, you must call Donovan from Blackwater Cats. Donovan and his crew have been catching trophy walleye for clients for years. These guys work their tails off, drilling, searching and finding trophy greenbacks. Donovan touches on different lures and colors and how new technology has changed the game when searching.

Check out the first episode of Season 2 when Nate Fibich shares his story of catching 2 monster walleye out of the same ice hole 45 minutes apart 2 days before the actual tournament.  Nate has been fishing this tournament with his dad , brother and other friends and family since he was a little boy.
