That's the reaction you'll get from most people when you suggest selling during the holidays. However, the holidays are a great time to sell. With the right strategy, selling during the holidays gives you a competitive advantage. Here's why. There are serious buyers out there. You don't get many buyers who are "just looking" this time of year. If someone is out looking for a home during the holidays, they mean business. They're motivated.  There are fewer homes on the market for buyers to browse. There are less listings available. That means less competition and more money for you.  After the holidays, listings will substantially increase. More homes on the market means more competition and less demand for your home, which means less money for you.  You can restrict your showings during the holidays. You can still celebrate the holidays with your family. Restricting showings will also increase demand, as buyers become more eager to see your home.    You can sell now for more money and buy in the spring. You don't have to move until January or February, after your taxes are done. Selling during the holidays gives you the unique opportunity to sell high and buy low. You will have more flexibility later if you sell sooner.  As you can see, the holidays are a great time to sell. If you have any questions, give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you!
