We are full of joy to be together this Easter as we celebrate the resurrected Christ! What an incredible opportunity for us to gather together on Saturday and Sunday to talk about the biggest and most significant event in human history.

We will be looking at the rest of Luke 24:36–53 with a message titled “Too Good To Be True.” Jesus reveals himself to his followers, and they see him but still “disbelieve for joy.” That doesn’t make a lot of sense. They are truly eyewitnesses of Jesus. Jesus eats some fish to prove he is in bodily form, explains the gospel clearly to them again, and tells them the essentials for their eternity and what they need for the forgiveness of sins. He is really answering the “so what” question about this time of year for all of us. What does this event matter to every person breathing?

He is patient, clear, and convincing. They respond with worship and great joy. We will spend time talking about what joy is and what it is not. We will also talk about them seeing his wounds and what that should mean for our earthly scars. Jesus, after coming back from the dead, could have had any conversation with them, but he spends his time on the gospel, making sure we get that right. He gives them a promise and then leaves them. They respond with worship of Him and great joy.

The first disciples had great joy. Usually, we have joy when we first follow Jesus, but sadly it fades. Life, suffering, the enemy, and time wear us down and dull the joy and freedom Jesus offers. May we look at Jesus this Easter, have a restored joy, invite people to him, and worship him.

We’re one week away from Easter! We’ve been praying this series has been helpful for you as we seek to share Jesus with people in our lives. This Sunday, we will wrap up the series talking about relational and conversational evangelism with a message titled, “The 6 Mile Walk.” We will look at the 7 Mile Walk Jesus took, and yes, we’ll address why we are calling it the 6 Mile Walk. Everyone we talk to is on their own journey. Our role is to walk with them. Jesus is going to give us some very practical insight. There are some things we can do and some things only God can do.

This Sunday we continue our series talking about how to share your faith, specifically from an intellectual standpoint. God’s word is clear that we all should be ready to give a defense for the Hope we have in Christ. However, we must not be defensive. How do we answer real questions people are asking, meeting them where they are, and help them take their next step? What if someone doesn't believe in the Bible? The Resurrection? Where do we start?

Thankfully, we have a story in Scripture that gives us a great guideline to sharing Jesus with those who don't believe in what Jesus said or did, found in Acts 17. As followers of Jesus, we don’t check our brains at the door. There is evidence and proof for defending the faith. There are also a lot of common ground examples we see about meeting people where they are, being ok with saying “I don't know,” and learning to ask good questions.

This message will be helpful for those of you who have someone in your life and you feel stuck on how to really help them take their next step closer to Jesus, or have someone in your life who would really benefit from this type of conversation.

This Sunday we are continuing our series “How Could They Know.” One of the encouraging things we see in Scripture is that there are different types of evangelistic styles.

What is evangelism? Evangelism simply means sharing Jesus with people who don’t know Him. Throughout this series, we are going to look at different styles people use to share the message of Jesus with others and invest in their lives.

This week we will be looking specifically at the third step on our family card: invest. We will also look at a story found in Luke 10:25–37. A lawyer, an expert in the Old Testament law, stands up to test Jesus. A conversation takes place about eternal life and who our neighbor is. This is the only recording of the Parable of the Good Samaritan.

Serving and hospitality are lived out for us in this story. Serving others and being hospitable are strong evangelistic styles that help us point others to Jesus. What does it look like for each of us to serve for Jesus and share about Jesus in every area of our lives?

This Sunday will be special. Twice a year we pause our normal Sunday flow to hear stories from people in our church. We will also have baptisms! It will be a powerful time together!

We’re kicking off a series, “How Could They Know,” based off of Romans 10:14. This series will focus on our family card and, more specifically, look at the 8 different evangelistic styles in Scripture. Everyone is called to share Jesus, but the “how” is what this teaching series will help with. What if you’re an introvert? What if you don't have experience with the Bible? No matter what your personality is, God wants to use you and the wiring you have.

This week we focus on “Sharing Your Story.” How do you share your Jesus story? Instead of one of us teaching, we thought it would be best to hear from people in our church—to have a real-life example in front of us. If you follow Jesus, you have a story. There is no such thing as a boring story. They all equally have power that God uses to reach different people from different walks of life.

This week we wrap up our series with the most difficult sermon, looking at a very well-known, sad story in 2 Samuel 11, focusing on David, with a message  titled “The Sin No One Plans For.” Our hope and prayer for this Sunday is for some to come clean, for others to build guardrails, and to be reminded not to throw stones—“but for the grace of God, so go we all.” This story is packed with wisdom to learn from, lessons on what to do and what not to do. Our sinful nature and the devil don’t play fair. We’re never at a place where sin is beyond us. King David had been king for around 20 years, and following a victory, he grew comfortable and put his guard down. There is usually a small compromise that we convince ourselves of that ends up costing us later.

In this story we hyper-focus on David; he is the main character. However, what about Bathsheba? Her story is equally important and begs a very important question we must address. Also observe that all sin is forgivable, but some sins follow you. There are some things done that cannot be undone in this life until we get to heaven.

The tension in the life of David is this catastrophic sin he commits, and yet… God forgave him. It’s a reminder of the character of God, the love and forgiveness He offers. David truly repents of his sin and later is called “a man after God’s own heart.” There is biblical hope for everyone. No matter what you have done or where you have come from, God invites you: “Seek the Lord while He may be found.”

This week we continue our series on marriage, looking at Ephesians 5:22–33 with a message titled, “A Godly Marriage.” How do we get and keep a godly marriage that serves as an example to others—what God designed and what we really want?

It’s easy to have our own ideas of what we think will work for our marriage, to look to others’ advice, or to turn to the latest book on the topic. All can be helpful. However, we must get our blueprint and foundation from God’s Word.

This Sunday, both men and women will be challenged. We won’t twist the text to mean something it doesn’t, but we will call out some obvious things this passage should mean for us as husbands and wives.

Everyone wants to be happily married to the same person for 60 years. But how does that happen? It’s not the experience of most people. It’s definitely not by accident. It requires God’s grace in our lives, two people on the same page, and a commitment to follow God’s Word and design as prescribed. What is required of a woman and a man to produce a lasting, godly marriage? Just a hint: We’re not called to change our spouse, just love and serve them. Easier said than done.

This week will require both grace and truth as we walk through this passage together.

This Sunday we continue our series on parenting. If you have been a parent for more than five minutes, you understand that it doesn’t always go as planned. We often have plans when it comes to raising our children, but what we want, what the Lord wants, and what our children want often clash.

We all know how challenging parenting is and can be, so we want to dedicate a Sunday not to giving an opinion on the matter or telling you how we are doing it right, but rather to talking about how we truly give our children to the Lord and trust Him with them. We will discuss some habits to build that are simple, though easier said than done. We will also call out some ways of godless parenting that are not helpful for our children and that the Bible is clear about.

Every parent has regrets or things they wish they had done differently. We compare ourselves with other parents and feel guilt, or we judge our own parents. These are all traps we need to avoid. Parenting is challenging and requires situational wisdom that is not always explicitly clear in Scripture.

Our goal is to challenge a few ways of thinking by encouraging some to change how we view our role as parents and encouraging others to keep doing the best they can in less-than-ideal circumstances. There is much grace we all need on this topic.

This week we continue our series, “Not According to Plan,” talking about singleness. Forty percent of adults in the church are single, which is not a problem—but many are very discontent, and that can be. Is it possible to be single and secure in the Lord? And does God’s Word give instruction on how singles are to live in today’s world?

This Sunday we will focus on the theology of singleness. We will lay a foundation and look at what Scripture says, then have an honest, practical conversation about the world’s path versus God’s plan. Today, many have relationship plans shaped by the world and not by the Word, which is why we have more resources than ever, yet most people are hurting and more confused than ever.

Singleness is not second class; it’s not meant to be a season that sidelines you. How we steward seasons tells us a lot about what we believe about God. Thankfully, the Bible is far from silent on this issue. We will look at a few ways people who are single can build on biblical principles—either to find who God has for them or to remain single and secure in the Lord. And for those who feel like they’ve made too many mistakes, it’s never too late to pivot and surrender to His purpose. There is grace for everyone to adjust where you find yourself and walk with God.
