Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred crossed the Queensland Coast around 9pm, and the Southeast has been absolutely copping it, with heavy rainfall, intense winds and flash flooding.
Miriam Bradbury from the Bureau of Meteorology told Peter Fegan on 4BC's Special Coverage, "We've still got the severe weather warning out, which does mention that risk of heavy rainfall."
"We could see six hourly rainfall totals in excess of 100 millimetres through the day today."
"Flash flooding is a risk because we've already seen so much rain over the last few days, this rain has nowhere to go."
