You may earnestly desire to soar through the air like an eagle, but no matter how hard you flap your arms, you will never get off the ground. You are physically unable to fly without some sort of flying apparatus. Likewise, human beings are spiritually incapable of coming to Christ for salvation without God performing a supernatural work of saving grace in them.
