I'm excited to have a former teammate, roommate and long time friend, Lorraine Stanek, on Flex This for this episode. Small disclaimer: we experienced some technical difficulties while recording that affected the sound quality. (One of the not-so-top 10 parts of a virtual world) Not only was it lovely to reconnect with Lo, it brought my heart immense joy to pick up as if there was no time between our last conversation. As all my conversation with Lorraine have gone throughout the years, Lo shares her authentic truth transparently with humor and joy. I'm so grateful she made time to chat with me, share her journey of becoming the best version of herself and her willingness to share it all with you.
Lorraine Stanek is 43 and born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She comes from a family where she is the oldest of 2 girls, and her parents are still together after 45 years! Lorraine's sister is her best friend and has given her two amazing nephews. She has four pets: 1 Great Dane named Vada, 2 cats named Peanut and Butter, and a turtle named Franklin. A quote from Lorraine, "I have been fortunate in my life to have had some incredible experiences. From being a karaoke DJ, to traveling to Europe, to playing professional women’s football, to being in a Stanley Cup parade, to being a teacher… the list goes on! I have been blessed in my life, for sure. I am currently in a new discovery/rebirth phase where I am trying to figure out who I am, and who I want to be, post-covid. These past two years have opened my eyes and helped me discover some new parts of me. Some I like, and some I don’t. I’m currently working on the parts I don’t!" You can connect with Lorraine on Facebook at Lorraine Stanek or Hank’s Haven. The organization she would LOVE for all the listener's to check out is Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary
