December 1945 and a routine Navy flight exercise, known as Flight 19, led by Lieutenant Charles C. Taylor, were tasked with completing a navigation and bombing exercise known as "Navigation Problem No. 1." The entire mission should have lasted just over two hours. But Flight 19 never returned.
