Publisher's Summary:
The New York Times best-selling author of The Sound of Glass and coauthor of The Forgotten Room tells the story of a woman coming home to the family she left behind - and to the woman she always wanted to be.
Georgia Chambers has spent her life sifting through other people's pasts while trying to forget her own. But then her work as an expert on fine china - especially Limoges - requires her to return to the one place she swore she'd never revisit.
It's been 13 years since Georgia left her family home on the coast of Florida, and nothing much has changed except that there are fewer oysters and more tourists. She finds solace in seeing her grandfather still toiling away in the apiary where she spent much of her childhood, but encountering her estranged mother and sister leaves her rattled. Seeing them after all this time makes Georgia realize that something has been missing - and unless she finds a way to heal these rifts, she will forever be living vicariously through other people's remnants. To embrace her own life - mistakes and all - she will have to find the courage to confront the ghosts of her past and the secrets she was forced to keep.

Haunting story about family secrets
Story told by three narrators about family secrets and the pain they cause. It improved the story to have the 3 distinct voices. Reccomend to women who enjoy Southern stories-about relationships between women
Wonderful Book!
I have read most of Karen White's books and I believe this is the best one yet! What a wonderful story of love and forgiveness. It is just what the world needs now. I highly recommend it to you. Enjoy!
tried and tried to wade thru this, not worth it
Keep going back, relistening to see if I missed something....the metaphors are SOOO trite...the bee analogies so simplistic and awkward.
If you like soap operas, "The Bachelor" and crap like that, I suspect you'll love this...I assume a love story will ensue at some point.
If you like wit, creativity and an engaging story, pass this by.....
If you're interested in bees, read The Secret Lives of Bees -- extremely captivating and well written...
Wonderful!
Absolutely, without a doubt the best narration I've heard using audible. Loved the story, the development of the characters and the very accurate representation of the intricate relationship of sisters. Highly recommend and can't wait to read more of Karen White's books.
Interesting story but I was ready to be stung and done.
This is a beautifully written saga with with interesting characters and plot twists about family history, a set of China, and bees. The story droned on too long, one of the sisters was a whiner and critic who I was finally hoping she would lose her epee pen and let the rest of the family be happy. It's worth a listen but don't bee expecting too much.
