Composed by Kim André Arnesen with poetry by Euan Tait, Flight Song uses the metaphor of flight to celebrate the beginning of young adult life and the transformative power of singing. The lyrics describe a soul’s hidden song being drawn out by a conductor, whose sweeping arm movements mirror the beating of great wings. Ultimately, the piece conveys how music unites us in compassion and inspires us to answer the cries of a restless world.
