Canada’s foreign policy just took another bizarre turn.

In the span of roughly 72 hours, Prime Minister Mark Carney managed to support U.S. strikes on Iran, criticize those same strikes as illegitimate, and then suggest Canada might still join the conflict.

But this isn’t an isolated moment.

From Donald Trump… to China… to the carbon tax… the pattern keeps repeating.

During the election campaign, Carney warned that Donald Trump threatened Canada’s sovereignty. Months later he praised Trump as a “transformational president.”

He called China Canada’s biggest security threat during the leaders’ debate. Shortly after taking office, he travelled to Beijing praising a new strategic partnership.

He once described carbon pricing as a cornerstone of climate policy. His first act as Prime Minister was scrapping the consumer carbon tax.

So what exactly is going on?
