Chasing fun is…fun.
We’re made for fun.
Close relationships, more than money or fame, are what keep people happy throughout their lives, the study revealed.
How do we not fall for the trap of “chasing fun” knowing that fun is good but limited.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out…
…by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.
Chasing the gifts over the Giver causes dysfunction.
When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting.
Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting.
Fasting: An intentional pause from pleasures such as food, sex and fun to refocus on God.
Fasting:
Fasting refocuses our affections from gifts to the Giver of those gifts—God!
