Aisling Fransciosi plays the role of Ella Blake, a talented young woman who specializes in stop-motion animation. She is currently assisting her mother, a well-known figure in the industry, in completing her final film due to her mother's arthritis. The collaboration between them is not going smoothly, as Ella feels emotionally manipulated by her mother, who used to manipulate her characters in a similar way. Despite Ella's desire to work on her own projects, she is struggling to come up with concrete ideas. After a tragic event, Ella and her supportive boyfriend Tom decide to move to an empty apartment to finish her mother's film and embark on her own creative journey.
