Florida is using the transfer portal to make up for any recruiting disappointments

Florida Gators fans have come to accept that Dan Mullen won't recruit like Urban Meyer. But he can coach with the best of 'em, and it is clear now he has a taste for acquiring elite, 5-star talent through the transfer portal (see: Gilbert, Arik and Cox, Brenton). It's an innovative — and perhaps obvious — way to compete with the schools who are leaving the Gators in the dust come Signing Day.
