When firefighters are called to put out a brush fire on the side of the road in Gainesville, they are shocked to find a body. When they learn the identity of that body, a beautiful cheerleader from the University of Florida, they are even more shocked. A pattern of abuse emerges leading police to the usual suspect and an unlikely accomplice.Fun Fact: Coppertone Sunscreen was invented in Miami by pharmacist Benjamin Green. Green served in the Pacific during World War II, and he saw that he and his fellow soldiers needed some way to protect against the sun. He slathered red veterinary petrolatum, or “red vet pet,” as a physical barrier from the sun to prevent ultraviolet rays from hitting his skin. This week we are covering a serial killer out of Huntsville, Texas. Daniel Lee Corwin killed three women in the East Texas area and attempted to kill two others. He was finally caught when one of his victims survived and was determined to find her attacker.Fun Fact: The Texas State Penitentiary at Huntsville opened in 1849, one year after the state legislature created the penitentiary system.
