Good Book
The story while not unique was written really well and kept me interested. The romance did begin rather quickly but that was to be expected. When two people are stranded together for days and go thru dangerous situations together they do tend to form a bond. The only real issue I had with this story was Arnell, Rubyâs husband. I would have like to have seen more of him and to know why he did what he did to Ruby. That was never really explained in the book so you never really got to understand what his motivation was. I would have like some dialogue between the two as well as Rubyâs son Brandon. I really believe the story would have benefited from more of these two characters, all in a still a really good book.
Surprised!!
This book earns 4 stars, just by not having any typos, misused words and sentences that does not make any sense.
It also gets 4 stars because it was a good story. However it does have some unanswered questions, what was Brandon
so upset about and why would he be called as a defense witness? And also it was never clear if ex husband wanted kids, insurance money or just her dead.
Another real biggie for me, was that it was priced right for the number of pages. I hate buying books then feeling ripped off. Because the book was overpriced, not written well and full of errors. It's really an insult to the readers that the writers thinks we don't know any better or that we don't care.
Cute story
This was an enjoyable read. I loved Jase and Ruby, they met under hard circumstances but it brought them together in a way that only they could understand. The attraction between them confused them for different reasons. He thought she needed time get over her trauma and she thought he felt pity for her. After returning home, they did spend more time apart or fighting feelings than I would have liked. The love scenes were hot, I would have liked a little more but maybe I'm greedy. There were a few issues I would have liked addressed in the end that weren't but it didn't take away from enjoying the book. Overall a fun, sweet easy read that held my interest.
Another good read!
Ok, so this is supposed to be a novella, but it felt like a full length novel! I felt like we were given enough information on both Jase and Ruby to have a good feel for both characters. The story pulled me in from Page 1 and held my attention to the end. Good storyline, interesting characters, and lots of heat.
This is the fourth book I've read by Lavender Parker and I've enjoyed each one.
