Paul had heard about the faith and love of the believers at Colosse. Their lives gave him reason to thank God and keep praying for them.
Pastor Poke Shuler teaches from Colossians 1:1–12 about faith in Christ, love for the saints, and a life that bears fruit. The message follows Paul’s prayer that believers would know God’s will, walk worthy of the Lord, and be strengthened with patience and joy.

Evangelist Dale Vance opens Psalm 91 and speaks about the time we spend alone with God. He walks through the chapter’s promises of protection, provision, and God’s presence in trouble.

Why can it feel easier to correct someone than to forgive them?
Brandon Stone, Adrian Byers, and Kevin Markham open 2 Corinthians 2 for an honest conversation about forgiveness in the church. They talk about confronting sin with love, welcoming back someone who has repented, and caring for a person after the hard conversation is over.
The discussion also looks at bitterness, the damage unforgiveness can do to a church, and what it means to forgive as Christ has forgiven us.
Recorded during Sunday School at The Brook, Honey Brook Baptist Church, on September 13, 2026.

At the gate of Bethlehem, Boaz was willing to pay the cost of redemption. Ruth's story ends with a family, a future, and a place in the line of David.
In this message from Ruth 4, Pastor Poke Shuler follows the promise of redemption, the work of the redeemer, and the new life that follows. Boaz points us to Christ, who knows us fully and still offers us salvation.

Naomi asked Ruth one question: shall I not seek rest for thee? By the end of the chapter the answer is, sit still, my daughter. The man will not rest until he has finished the thing.
Pastor Poke Shuler walks through Ruth 3 in six movements: the preparation of Ruth, the presentation of Ruth, the performance of Ruth, Ruth recognized, Ruth redeemed, and Ruth resting. Ruth washed, dressed, went down to the threshing floor, and laid at the feet of Boaz. She asked him to spread his skirt over her. He said, fear not, I will do it.
That is the sinner at the feet of Jesus. You come prepared, you come humbled, you ask to be covered, and the Redeemer says, I know your heart, I can do it, and I can afford it. Then he sends you home with the earnest, more than enough to get you by, and the responsibility rests on him.

Ruth went into the field looking for grace. What she called "her hap" was the providence of God leading a stranger to the field of Boaz.
Pastor Poke Shuler walks through four truths in Ruth 2: the pursuit of grace, the providence of grace, the provider of grace, and the posture of grace. Boaz, Ruth's kinsman redeemer, points us to Christ. He gives grace to the undeserving and leaves handfuls of purpose along the way.
Ruth did not come pretending she deserved anything. She came, bowed, and trusted under the Redeemer's wings. You can do the same. His grace is sufficient, and it will follow you to the end.
