FLYER AND ICE

With the #Flyers getting off to a surprisingly fast start, what is the reason? This now #Gritty team which is deprived of top line #NHL talent is indeed playing hard.  Is most of the credit because of hard nosed coach John Tortorella?  Or, does most of the credit go to Carter Hart and his stellar play?  Probably a little bit of both.  Join Dan and Zak as they give their thoughts on this nice start, and if they believe it is sustainable.

As the #nhl23 season gets underway, the guys discuss their disappointment in the #Flyers sending down Cam York to the minors.  Nick and Dan also discuss their belief the Orange and Black will be a bottom 4 team in the entire #nhl.  The guys predict the top 3 teams in each division, and the wild card teams-and who will go on to win the #stanleycup. Finally, the boys give predictions on the season ending individual NHL awards.

The #Flyers went into this solid, but not great #nhldraft22 with the 5th overall pick. They definitely took a top 5 #NHL talent, but was he the best available?  We will discuss this, and all other picks, plus the Tony DeAngelo trade.

The #Flyers said they are not in rebuild mode, but in a retool.  With countless #NHL talent available, they sign Justin Braun and Nick Deslauriers!  Are you kidding me!  Forget Johnny Hockey, how about 2-3 solid mid level players!  We will discuss #NHLFreeAgency  and little bit more on Flyer and Ice!

Shane Wright drops to number 4 in #nhldraft22, and the #Flyers had the opportunity to take arguably the best defenseman in the draft at number 5, David Jiricek.  Instead they went with a skilled, power forward in Cutter Gauthier.  Join us a we welcome #OHL scout, Pete Judge to recap round 1 of the NHL draft.

The #Flyers are in need of a new coach.  A #NHLStanleyCup coach has just entered the market in Barry Trotz.  Dan "Old School" Green makes an argument why he should be the next Flyers coach.  Guest host, Zak Kindrachuk, ultimately went with Rick Tocchet.  Other candidates considered were Assistants, Rob Zettler and Derek Lalonde, of the 2 time Cup Champions, Tampa Bay #Lightning, and Jeff Daniels, Assistant Coach with the Hurricanes.  Tune in to hear more!
