Welcome to episode #18! I'm so excited to bring back Ghali @glasses_n_beard from our "Coming to America" episode to celebrate the Muslim holiday of Ramadan with us. Ghali, who is Moroccan-American, does an amazing job of breaking down the holiday's origins, the practice of fasting, and the spiritual connection one has to their god during this time. 'Ramy' is a TV show, which is a bit different than usual FMR, but since I couldn't find a Ramadan-themed holiday film yet, Ramy Youssef's comedic take on a young Muslim-American man trying to cleanse himself of distractions and gain focus during Ramadan. This was one of my favorite episodes so far and I felt I learned so much Arabic too! MashAllah!
