Kyle and Coach Dan Jackson discuss the lead up to his hiring, his approach to recruiting, what he's learned along his coaching journey, the strengths of the staff he's assembled, and much more.

About Dan Jackson, Head Football Coach of South Dakota State. Coach Jackson was an assistant coach for South Dakota State in 2012. After being a position coach, recruiting coordinator, and associate head coach, Jackson took a position with Northern Illinois Football in 2020. In his second year he supported a defense that contributed to a 10-win season and a MAC Championship. In 2022, Coach Jackson joined Clark Lea's staff at Vanderbilt. Clark Lea, himself a former Jackrabbits LBs Coach, noticed Jackson's recruiting talent and ability to groom sound defensive backs. From there, Jackson again teamed up with Jason Eck, a former Jackrabbits' OC, as Defensive Coordinator for the Idaho Vandals. Before returning home to Brookings, Coach Jackson was headed to The University of New Mexico to assume the DC role. But being the Head Coach at his alma mater was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.
