This 'Fundamentals of Cheffery' episode is part 1 (of 2) of my UC Davis Domes story. In this episode, I cover some of the community issues that I was not directly involved in, but close enough to observe, at the UC Davis Domes. Each of these problems seemed solvable with a simple policy implementation or procedural change. The resistance to solutions, again and again, informed my overall view of the community. Part 1 contextualizes the community behaviors and thought processes that I deal with, more directly, in part 2.
