Episode 10: Focus on Engaging Content: 

Have you heard the phrase “Content is king?” It applies to many mediums, but none more so than podcasting.

With video, moving images help capture attention and give meaning to the spoken content.

Books and articles can be accompanied by photos to help expand their appeal and further explain their topic.

But podcasting is spoken word. Sure, there are video podcasts, but the vast majority of podcasts are audio only.

With an audio podcast, you only have your voice to communicate your message. Listeners will tune out if that message, your content, isn’t engaging enough. 

Your content should be a captivating mix of information and entertainment. Be sure to Maintain a conversational tone. Pacing is key. 

Your goal? Keep your audience hooked from start to finish.

And don’t worry about how short or how long your episodes are. Make each episode as long as needed to convey your message, no more and no less. If that means releasing a 15-minute episode, that’s what you do. If it turns out you need 90 minutes to convey your message. So be it.

I forget who said it, but there’s no such thing as too long, only too boring. Don’t be boring.

Creating engaging content will keep listeners returning for more and ensure your podcast’s success.
