Devotional Scripture:

.. I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:10 NIV

Jesus' coming into the world was no accident; it was the Father's intentional plan for humanity, to bring us back into the right relationship with God, our Father.

Why?

The Bible says it this way, "for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). In other words, John 10:10b affirms this verse, the central verse of the entire Bible, Jesus came so that we would have life beyond the grave, that's having life to the fullest.

Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth, and goodwill to all men. He is the Holy Son of God; he's our reason and focus this Christmas season. It's not about a tree, gifts under the tree, hot chocolate, oh... with Marshmallows... can't forget that according to my daughter...no Christ is the focus; therefore, we celebrate the birth of Christ who came to save our lives.

Let's focus on Christ, not things, but the person and the reason. He has brought us peace, joy, and hope. There are problems in our world, but Christmas always brings joy, peace, love, and hope for the better. Focus on Jesus this Christmas, family; he's the stability of our lives and of this season. It can be distracting this time of year, but let Jesus be our focus.
