Focusing Your Passion to Create a Life You Love with Remiah Alleyne

Listen Later

#20: This week I chat with Remiah Alleyne, who is a black solo female traveler and Canadian teacher expat living abroad in Abu Dabi who focuses on showcasing hidden gems, unique destinations, and budget friendly travel around a 9-5 schedule.

Bridging the gap between solo and group travel, Remiah seeks to inspire other women of color to explore the world.

She’s hosting a group trip to Egypt this December, so December 2024 where traverlers can come together to explore Cairo, Luxor, and more! Of course, I’ll link to everything in the show notes so you can check out the details on that- but right now there is still an early bird discount- so if you’re interested, make sure you take advantage of that limited time deal!

We get into:

  • Remiah’s passion for teaching and some of the perks of teaching abroad, specifically in the UAE, what the requirements and application process look like, and how she’s able to work a ton of travel into her busy, demanding schedule
  • Some of the differences in solo and group travel
  • A few of Remiah’s favorite underrated places around the world
  • We also get really honest about the time and energy commitment that side hustles, passion projects, and starting businesses while still working full-time actually take and some of the challenges we each have and continue to face in navigating and balancing life, work, and travel.

We talk about the importance of getting specific on your goals and vision and directing your energy and passion in a more focused, strategic, and purposeful way.

As well as, the importance of honoring what feels safe and secure for you financially while you’re trying to build a business or pursue other means of generating revenue than your current employment.

Find everything Remiah's working on here!

DON'T FORGET Season 2 comes out in September 2024, so follow the show on Instagram to stay in-the-know and for awesome content in the meantime, obviously.
