Human beings are created to follow. We follow ideas. We follow trends. We often follow without even being aware that we are following. What if God could shine a light into our hearts so we could clearly know what who or what we are following. Jesus wants to be our light. Jesus wants to be our influence.

Jesus said, Follow me. He will train and nurture us so that we will choose his ways more and more. As we learn to follow Jesus we will live for him. Sometimes this might bring pain. But the blessing that awaits us will far outweigh any temporary discomfort. The disciples discovered this very fact when they exclaimed, What kind of man is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him! As we follow Jesus we will find often find ourselves uttering very similar words. Follow Jesus.
