Nostos is a Greek word for homecoming. Odysseus takes a long time to get home from the Trojan War and everything had changed, including Odysseus. In Psalm 137, the Judeans longed for home and couldn't sing their songs in a strange land. Nostalgia is an ache for home or for the past. Something is missing in each of us.
