We will talk about one of the icon of this wild Australia: The Tasmanian Devil.
With cartoons we fell in love with this grumpy dude and to see them face to face (in our case at the zoo) that grumpy cartoon it is just a cartoon, because Tasmanian Devils are cute animals, with big teeth and we can say very noisy, but anyway incredible and unique.
Unfortunately they have developed the Devil Facial Tumour Disease and their population has been threatened by this type of cancer during decades. However recent researches has revealed that their own immune system is reacting and some of them have recovered from cancer, which means a great hope for them and for the ecosystem of Tasmania.
We are so happy. At the phone and from Tassie we will have in our program, the Chilean Rodrigo Hamede, Post Doctoral Research Fellow of the University of Tasmania who has been involved with Tasmanian devils for more than 13 years. Rodrigo will be giving us more details about his research, and his life in Tassie.
He is not a stranger from Chilean media, one because he is Chilean, second because he has been interviewed here and in Chile by many newspapers, TV programs, we are very happy to have him in Passion Fruit on Air.
