BIG IDEA:
Prayer and praise are weapons that change the atmosphere and open doors.
Scriptures
- 1 Peter 2:9-10 (NKJV) - But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
- Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) - Death and life are in the power of the tongue,And those who love it will eat its fruit.
- Romans 4:17 (NKJV) - (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
- Matthew 12:37 (NKJV) - For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
- John 12:49-50 (NKJV) - For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”
- Acts 16:23-34 (TPT) - After they were severely beaten, they were thrown into prison and the jailer was commanded to guard them securely. 24 So the jailer placed them in the innermost cell of the prison and had their feet bound and chained. 25 Paul and Silas, undaunted, prayed in the middle of the night and sang songs of praise to God, while all the other prisoners listened to their worship. 26 Suddenly, a great earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. All at once every prison door flung open and the chains of all the prisoners came loose. 27 Startled, the jailer awoke and saw every cell door standing open. Assuming that all the prisoners had escaped, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself 28 when Paul shouted in the darkness, “Stop! Don’t hurt yourself. We’re all still here.”
29 The jailer called for a light. When he saw that they were still in their cells, he rushed in and fell trembling at their feet. 30 Then he led Paul and Silas outside and asked, “What must I do to be saved?” 31 They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved—you and all your family.” 32 Then they prophesied the word of the Lord over him and all his family. 33 Even though the hour was late, he washed their wounds. Then he and all his family were baptized. He took Paul and Silas into his home and set them at his table and fed them. 34 The jailer and all his family were filled with joy in their newfound faith in God.
- II Corinthians 10:4-5 (NKJV) - For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
- Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV) - praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints
- Psalms 149:5-9 (TPT) - His godly lovers triumph in the glory of God,and their joyful praises will rise even while others sleep. 6 God’s high and holy praises fill their mouths,for their shouted praises are their weapons of war! 7 These warring weapons will bring vengeance on every opposing force and every resistant power— 8 to bind kings with chains and rulers with iron shackles. 9 Praise-filled warriors will enforce the judgment-doom decreed against their enemies.This is the glorious honor he gives to all his godly lovers.Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

- Hebrews 11:6 (TPT) - And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who passionately seek him.
- 1 John 3:8 (TPT) - But the one who indulges in a sinful life is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was revealed was to undo and destroy the works of the devil.
