Microdosing is a conversation that I've been following for a few years now. And you know how I follow: with a great deal curiosity and - in this case - a healthy dose of caution. 

So when my friend Nata (remember her from the She Who Rises breath work + cacao events?) said that she supports folks in microdosing experiences, I heard her and I scheduled a talk. 

I asked a lot of questions and poked around for greater understanding about how she works and where she is guiding folks. I was curious.

I remember when Mike Boyes first came to Studio 108 to practice Kundalini Yoga....

We were in the front room. Yup! This was prior to those pilates reformers!

It was sunny hot on the windows and Mike sat to my right. His presence was confident + steady. His gaze didn't waiver. 

After class, we talked about the practice. He shared that he had just finished teacher training and was looking forward to finding a studio home. 

By the end of the conversation, I said what I always say: "It happens in your daily practice. I practice every day."

He looked me straight in the eyes. And then he showed. Every week. 

AND he committed to his daily personal practice - every day - to this day. 

And THAT is why Mike is a great teacher. 

He's been teaching our Sunday morning class since 2022. He's taught at studios and schools throughout the city. And he's at Edgewater Park every Friday night for a community class. 

His gong game is second to none.

When it comes to health + nutrition, one of the most informed people I know is Studio 108's very own Leah Rachelle. 

Leah teaches fitness, yoga + pilates reformer. She is a clinical counselor and a functional medicine health coach. She has studied herbalism + grows herbs locally at Oxbow Orchard. 

And while Leah is quick to point out that she doesn't know everything, she does have a lot to teach me. And in today's conversation, I snagged some new vocabulary and a few solutions for enhanced well being.

At Studio 108, we appreciate the multidimensional aspects of the human. Which is just a fancy way of saying: We're all about body, mind and soul as a connected holistic experience.  

Today Kaley Tocco and I sit to chat about that mind-body-soul connection and how Thai Massage, Reiki and Access Bars are utilized to support folks in healing and growing and learning and being. 

If you practice yoga with us, you might know Kaley from her yin class on Monday night. It's a studio fave. She also teaches slow burn yoga, warm gentle yoga + restorative yoga. 

But beyond that, Kaley is also a very powerful energy healer with a gift for moving energy through the human form. She explains how she creates space, restores connection and opens up flow.

In my neighborhood, the seasonal shift into spring means mulch around the trees and hanging baskets by the front door. 

But at Oxbow Orchard, there's a whole lotta farm to get organized. So our local urban farmers Beth Lomske and Kyla Werlin are very busy birthing baby sheep, nurturing seedlings -  both vegetable and flower - planning community events and preparing the marketing for a summer of fresh, local fares. 

And I don't know that I can adequately explain how incredible it feels to stand at Oxbow Orchard with the sheep and turkeys and tomatoes and basil and honey and just the nicest people when I'm but a short mile from the industrialism and commercialism that defines the neighborhoods in which I live and work. But I'm chatting with Beth today to create a picture and to tell a story so that you'll be inspired to drive from your neighborhood to their farm paradise and check it out for yourself. 

So please take a listen and then make a point of coming down to the farm this summer. Procrastinate no longer. It's an incredible feeling. I think you'll leave feeling really good.
