Scripture tells us that the ultimate fool is a person who is unteachable. Unteachable in this sense is not because of lack of aptitude or intelligence, but a person who is "wise in his own eyes." Being unteachable comes from pride, the root of all sin, and false view of themselves. Christians are called to be humble and teachable and seek Jesus instead.
