The 1998 world cup final was set to be a classic but when Brazil's top player, Ronaldo, is omitted from the teamsheet, everyone is left wondering why. One underwhelming final later and the theories surrounding the downfall of one of the world's most elite footballing nations begin to develop.

Where Curiosity Killed the Cat differs from the saturated genre of true crime is that it focuses more on mystery than investigation procedural. A lot of the cases covered do not have solid conclusions and its the fascination with the inexplicable that drives this series.
