Foothills Fellowship ABQ Sermons

Pastor Mike shares another attribute of the Holy Spirit, and this one is as important and relevant today as it was for the early church suffering through brutal persecution in the first century.

Guest speaker, Dr. John David.

The Holy Spirit shatters our prejudices and biases - and reveals to us that the good news of the Kingdom of God is for everyone!

The Holy Spirit empowers us with courage & boldness - which leads to unity and Kingdom advancement.

Stories of the Holy Spirit's power from our work in South Asia.

Without the Holy Spirit, there would have been no Incarnation. Without the Holy Spirit, Jesus would have had no power or authority. And without the Holy Spirit, Jesus would not have risen from the dead. Pastor Mike explores the role of the Holy Spirit in Jesus' life, ministry, and teaching.

Pastor Mike is joined by three people who have had prophetic ministry in his life to show how the Holy Spirit continues to speak prophetically in the church and in the world even today.

As we've already seen, one of the functions of the Holy Spirit is that He interacts with and influences our own spirit and mind to accomplish His purposes in and through us. Today, Pastor Mike shows how the Holy Spirit did this in the Old Testament days through His interactions with and influence on the prophets.

Pastor Mike is joined by Pastor Ladi Adeniyi, the pastor of House of Life Church, for a discussion about what the Bible says about speaking and praying in tongues. Mike and Ladi operate under different interpretations of these passages which lead them to different practices. They explore some of these passages, share their understanding and interpretation, and model how to have a conversation about theological differences in a loving and respectful way, maintaining their unity in diversity.

Within orthodox Christianity, there are a myriad of interpretations on the biblical passages about speaking and praying in tongues  - which have led to deep divisions among Christians. Pastor Mike looks at these passages, gives an overview of how Christians have - and are still - interpreting them, and then pleads for the church to exhibit grace, love, and unity in the diversity.
