It’s that special time of the year! In Wisconsin, (which has to be clarified due to each state being different) November 23rd officially began whitetail gun hunting season. With over 600,000 registered hunters—excluding those who don’t buy licenses—the sheer number of participants makes Wisconsin hunters the 8th largest weaponized force in the world… look it up.

This year, Tonks and I hunted at DiOz Dairy, which happens to be owned and operated by my grandma Diane and grandpa Ozzy. Their organic dairy farm is located on 450 acres of heaven, literally. It’s a magical place where you get the opportunity to learn farm life and what a true hunting experience actually is—non of that public land bullshit. That said, it was 3 days of pure bliss; a perfect getaway from the chaotic times Tonkie and I have faced these past 5 months. It is safe to say that this trip was much needed.

We had an incredible time together! Tonks got a taste of what deer hunting is and what operating a farm all entails—from milking cows to cleaning manure gutters. She did a fantastic job on both accounts! I was so proud of her! Next year, she’ll have a lever-action 30-30 rifle in her hands and an iodine dipper on her hip.

Thank you Tonkie for coming with me! I’d also like to thank Diane and Ozzy for hosting us. It was an experience we will never forget; one I will always cherish in memory and hold onto as tight as I can.
