The Food and Drug Administration and Foppen Frozen Seafood US. are recalling Foppen Smoked Norwegian Salmon Slices – Toast sized, 8.1 oz due to listeria monocytogenes contamination. This bacterium causes a severe and sometimes fatal systemic infection in the very young, older frail individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. Listeria can also trigger miscarriages and stillbirths. Affected is lot # 412.
This product was sold in: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.
