This week in our Holy Night Christmas series we explored one of the most beautiful truths in Scripture. Jesus did not come for the powerful or the polished. He came for all people.
As we continue through Advent, we look again to the Gospel of Luke and allow the Christmas story to come alive with new meaning. The birth of Jesus was not only the fulfillment of hundreds of ancient prophecies. It was God’s loud and loving declaration that no one is too low, too wounded, too imperfect, or too far gone for His grace.
The angels did not appear to kings or religious leaders. They appeared to shepherds. Men who were overlooked, unwanted, unclean, and dismissed by society. God chose the lowliest people to receive the highest news. Through them He announced a Messiah who came to redeem, restore, and bring peace to every human heart.
In this message we uncover:
• Why the Christmas story is the ultimate fulfillment of prophecy
• How God intentionally chose the shepherds to show His love for the least
• The deep wounds we carry and the peace Jesus came to bring
• How shame loses its power in the presence of Christ
• What it means that the birth of Jesus is good news for all people
Through scenes from The Chosen: Holy Night, we see the shepherds’ story in a fresh way and watch how the arrival of Jesus binds up their wounds in both body and soul. The same peace offered to them is offered to us today.
Jesus comes to bring peace within because He makes peace between.
Between us and ourselves.
Between us and God.
