In case you missed it – and I did miss it last week – the white House announced that IT was ‘flagging posts” for Facebook to presumably delete because, in the words of the President, they’re (social media companies) “killing people.” Now, putting aside the absurdity of the President’s off the cuff but fully masked comment, there were bigger questions about whether the government telling a “private” platform what to delete is in fact, censorship? Facebook hit back, claiming that the nobody has done more for fighting “misinformation” than they have, including the President. The President backed off his inane comments and then decided to go full-on AHT. As for the censorship angle, there is nothing new in all of this. Just ask George Creel…
