Memoir Writers

For memoirists who were sensitive

Listen Later

So,

if someone laughs when you're walking around in the store,

at the mall,

walking down the street,

do you ever think they're laughing at you?

I hope not.

It's a terrible way to feel.

I have been so self-centered in my earlier life that I was always cringing when I

would hear someone laugh because I thought they were laughing at me.

I don't think that anymore.

I let people be happy on their own without having to use me as fodder for their humor.

There's something about being overly sensitive that

that is kind of narcissistic.

And I didn't realize that until I started to stand on my own two feet of identity.
