Psalm 3 beginning at verse 3, “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.”
There’s so much today to make us afraid; the uncertainty of the weather, the looming threats of war, the social confusion of our time. Everything contributes to worry and loss of sleep. But God promises to be our glory, meaning He’s the one who gives us such inner confidence that through it all His own name is brought to reputation. Let Him lift up your head today. Let Him lead you to that place where He alone becomes the source of all your rest.
It’s time to pray!
