Welcome back to Tanya is a ברייתא! This week, we examine the Alter Rebbe’s take on the concept of lishmah. We compare his ideas to the rishonim, contrast Tanya with Hilchos Talmud Torah, and ultimately we come to a clear view of what constitutes lishmah.
